Buying a new surfboard is not a cheap exercise, especially with some long boards costing the same price as a small second hand car! So, you are definitely going to need something that is going to protect your new board.
After trying other brands and not feeling satisfied with the quality of protection to my board, and time and time again, getting frustrated that my perfect wax job is ruined from then sun. I branched out and went looking for something different.
I found a company called Boardsox who make Original Canvas Surfboard Cover’s. Boardsox’s covers are designed and made with custom ultralight and tough 16oz Canvas with reinforced 5mm padded nose for extra protection.
The Canvas is also water, sand and wax resistant. Because of these features, I also double it as a change mat when I’m taking off my wetsuit. The sand and water just shakes right off.
So I am obviously super stoked with the quality of my sox, and it fits my board like a glove.
My favourite part is the artwork on it. It was honestly a flip of the coin when it came down to which design and charity to pick, as they all look sick.
After a tough decision, I decided with Jake Ross’s The Skeletor. It’s awesome to know that my purchase helps the charity ‘Surfers for climate’ as a small portion of sales get donated to them.
The shipping was so super fast in a usually busy time of the year. Which is awesome for last minute shoppers such as myself.
If anyone is looking for a particular size, Boardsox also do custom sizes. I know from experience that Dan, the co-creator was really helpful when I messaged him. So do not hesitate to ask any questions.
After chatting to Dan and telling him about my reviews, he was super generous and gave me a special promo code for 15% off all covers. Just use the code southcoastkook at checkout on his website
