Paint a deck workshop for the ‘Sutherland Shire’

Here is a story from one of my SurfPaints, workshops.

At the start of these Christmas holidays, at the beautiful location of Gunnamatta Pavilion in the Sutherland Shire. SurfPaints brought a ‘Design your deck’ workshop to the local young people.

SurfPaints workshop

30 young people arrived at 10 am sharp to learn the tricks of the trade when it comes to using SurfPaints. We supplied each participant with their very own skateboard deck, and a packet of each Primary and Pastel set of paint to get creative with, which they got to keep at the end of the workshop.

With the perfect view of the ocean, the young people got stuck into the paper templates to help plan out their designs.

Pickachu

We had a Pickachu, a Turtle, Flames, the Devil and some very detailed Japanese art, to name a few of the designs that were done. Some participants took advantage of the extra Fluros and Metallic colours that we had available. It was great to see our full-colour range get used in various designs.

Before we knew it, three hours were up, and the workshop was over. As the parents arrived to pick up their children, comments were made that they couldn't believe that their child did the artwork because they didn't realise they were creative like that.

This event was timed perfectly with the school holidays, as now, on those uneventful school holiday days, the young people can use the leftover paint to paint their own boards and crafts.
