Pivoting in another Direction.

The Kiama Winter Festival brings a touch of fun to winter by turning a vacant park into an outdoor ice skating rink for several days. Participants can come down and glide gracefully on the ice whilst immersing themself in the Festival activities as well.

We were invited to come down and add to the day by running one of our Workshops. As you probably have seen and all know the drill, We take old Surfboards that would typically end up in landfill and turn these into Art with the help of participants. But we decided to mix things up with the Kiama winter festival, and instead of Surfboards, we wanted to add to the theme of winter and use skis and Snowboards instead. This gave us an excellent opportunity to show how versatile we can be and save some Skis and Snowboards from landfill in the process.

The Participants had so much fun getting creative, and we were stoked to be a part of it.

One of our main goals for the Winter Festival was to showcase our commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness by being able to pivot into a new direction. We wanted to emphasise the importance of reducing waste in the sports that we love and repurposing items that would otherwise end up in landfill.

Thanks once again to the Kiama Winter Festival for letting us be involved and we are excited to work alongside such a great festival next year.

We have made it our mission to transform 100 landfill boards into unique works of art. With the recent events, we have successfully refurbished 35 boards.
